First Edition

Okay, it’s hot in New York right now and pretty humid and I am trying to figure out how to start this thing off. This is the first entry of my, I don’t know what to call it; my kaleidoscopic view of reality; my yoga web-log. So how did this YogaScope kaleidoscope concept come about? Well I have a friend who, when I was a teenager, told me that I see the world as though I was looking through a kaleidoscope. I like the view through my kaleidoscope and little has changed. Perhaps it is not really true but I like to think that I have a unique perspective on things. It is also the concept behind my email address. I am upsidedowncarl not simply because I like being inverted; but as much because I see things upsidedown and backwards from how it seems that the rest of the world views things.

So what do I need to say with this first entry? I guess I can link to some of the places I teach. Here is my page at the Breathing Project: http://www.breathingproject.org/carl.shtml

Here is my page at New York Yoga: http://www.newyorkyoga.com/instructors/CarlHorowitz.php

If you scroll down on this page I am somewhere towards the bottom. Many of the other teachers on this page are good friends of mine. However, the information is so old it is not funny. One of the centers listed on “my” schedule of classes on this page is no longer even open and another center has undergone one name change and is in the process of undergoing another. :) However, this is the web-site of a close friend of mine and he is a wonderful teacher so his web-site would be worth having a look at: http://www.heartofyoga.org/community_teachers_namerica.html

Looking at all of these pages, I guess I need to have these place update the information a little.

There is one more thing I should say for this opening message besides welcome to my own personal view of everything concerning yoga. I am intending to make this commentary a little bit interactive. If you read something and have a perspective, feel free to write in to me. If it seems print-worthy, your opinions may get posted. I will only post things with permission of the person submitting. I may edit submissions for brevity or they may turn into e-dialogues between the submitting party and me before they get posted. So if a topic or conversation becomes interesting and you feel like sending in your opinions, feel free to. You just may get your views posted to this web-log.

Peace.
